December 16, 2011

The Mistletoe Madness Blog Hop is now Ended.

Congrats to Jay on winning my giveaway package!

Thank you for stopping by and Happy Holidays!

***

The holiday season is filled with so many things.

There’s hustle and bustle, the warmth of friends and family, and celebrations and traditions everywhere. Time flies in a blur of lights and music.

And my favorite moments? They’re the ones stolen beneath the mistletoe.

A kiss, intense and savored, unhurried and enjoyed, the kind to steal your breath away.

Sigh…

*melts*

Ahem. Sorry about that.

Moving on… :P

I’m offering a a box of goodies as my giveaway. To win, please leave a comment and share with us your favorite moments of the season.

Also, visit the Contests page to enter to win the Grand Prize!

And the box? As much fun as it would be to have the winner surprised when they open it, I figure it’d be more fun to share with you all what you’re entering to win. :P

Included in this giveaway is a Terra’s Guardians tshirt, assorted signed cover flats for my books, a PJ Schnyder tote bag, pen and notepad as well as various books by awesome authors such as Dakota Cassidy, D Renee Bagby, Nalini Singh and more. Plus some fun swag I nabbed in my con travels this past convention season. This giveaway is open to international entrants.

Happy Holidays, all, and good luck with the many other giveaways from the other participants on the blog hop!

A few days before Christmas a few of years ago, I suggested to my youngest son that I wasn’t going to make the annual Christmas Tree shaped Cinnamon roll for breakfast. I figured they were too old to enjoy something so silly. My son informed me that Christmas wouldn’t be the same without the Tree shaped breakfast. I was so surprised that he felt so strongly about it that I haven’t considered not making since. I realized at that moment it really is the small things that make the holiday special. Who knew?

My favorite part of the holidays is getting to spend time with my family. We don’t live in the same city so its nice to be able to spend time together and catch up.

My favorite moments from the Christmas season are the music and the lights! And when I combine the two, it’s magic! Every year, I put the kids in the car and we just drive around for an hour or two looking at Christmas lights, listening to Christmas music. It really is my favorite part of the season, because I have all of my kids together, at my mercy so to speak, forced to listen to my singing of Christmas carols at the top of my lungs! Ah, the joys of the season :) LOL

  5. Mary on December 16, 2011 at 10:47 pm

I love watching the kids open the presents. This might be the last year they believe in Santa.

Thanks for the super great giveaway and Happy Holidays!

Some of my favorite moments during the holiday season, are the ones where I first spot a future DIVA in the making. He or she is participating in the church Christmas program. You know the one, the cutie, in their own little world, twirling, twisting, making faces or waving at mom and dad but just so darn sweet you want to hug ‘em. They may steel the spotlight with a show stopping performance but they may never sing a lick in time or tune, or they may forget their lines, but in the end, they were the best part of the whole show. Thanks for the contest. lisagk(at)yahoo(dot)com

I hope your holiday season is filled with love and laughter!!!

My favorite times during the holidays is the time we spend together as a family getting ready for Christmas. Baking, decorating, wrapping presents. It seems to be the best times as a family.

  21. StacieD on December 17, 2011 at 10:47 pm

I’ve just move to the Pacific Northwest from the Midwest. I’ve been pleasantly surprised by the mild weather. In Chicago we always had snow before Christmas. In Seattle we have had cold weather but no snow. The best part of this holiday season is getting to know my new hometown.

  22. Tamsyn on December 18, 2011 at 1:45 am

I enjoy decorating the Christmas tree. I love to watch the slow twinkling of Christmas lights (not the flashing ones). With the lights out in the living room, the Christmas tree is really beautiful and it just relaxes me to watch the lights twinkling away.
    Merry Christmas!

I love everything about the Holidays, but I do believe my absolute favorite part is a tie between watching my children opening their presents from Santa and the moment we get home from our last stop Christmas day and it’s all OVER! Lol. As the mom, we’re the bakers, shoppers, superhero’s etc… that get it all done and somehow noone expects us to break under such enormous amounts of pressure. Just that moment when all of it falls off your shoulders and I can cuddle up with my husband and not have a darn thing to do or plan for is just the absolute best. Thank you for this awesome giveaway! (dani3222001(at)yahoo(dot)com)

My favorite moments of the season always involve my family. I enjoy watching the grandkids open their presents from Santa and the pure joy on their faces. I also enjoy getting together at my sister’s house and opening presents, stuffing ourselves and then playing board games after that. My family loves to play games. I hope you have a joyous and safe holiday season.

My most recent holiday memory comes from last year.

I was wrapping my presents and had a small plastic bag sitting beside me for trash. Now, I have a cat who is rather fussy about things, but cannot resist the sound of rattling paper. Interrupting my wrapping frequently, she would lay on the wrapping paper or the scissors or pat the tape out of my reach. But finally she left me alone so she could explore the wadded bits of paper in that bag.

I didn’t pay much attention to her until I heard the bag rattling and the cat running-she’s a rather plump feline and doesn’t do quiet well. I looked over and saw that she had gotten the handle of the bag looped (loosely) around her neck and when she moved it followed her. This of course spooked her so she ran!

It might be cruel, but I couldn’t stop laughing as she ran around the house, the bag flapping behind her. Eventually it got caught on a chair leg and she broke free. The cat hid under the bed for the rest of the night.

My favorite time of the season for years has been Christmas morning with my children. They are teens now so they don’t have that complete awe but they still have the excitement and joy in the day itself.

I have two favorite moments of the holidays. The first is actually an entire day–Christmas Eve. I love the anticipation of what I’m going to get and how much people are going to love the present I give them, without any of the (potential) let down. The second is spending most of Christmas day with nearly my mom’s entire side of the family, which is usually greater than 30 people.

Well, sadly I’ve worked in nursing in hospitals for 15 years and HAD to always work. (I never had a choice for it off. Hospitals don’t close for the holidays) I honestly can’t remember the last x-mas I got to have off. I do love to drive around and look at the x-mas lights. Thank you for this generous giveaway!
